Housing Financing Fund

The Housing Financing Fund was established on 1 January 1999, taking over all the assets and obligations of its predecessor, the State Housing Board. The Fund's purpose is to arrange loans to individuals, local authorities, companies and non-governmental organizations with respect to their acquisition of private dwellings, whether for their own use or for leasing out.

The activities of the Fund may be divided into two categories. On the one hand, loans made to individuals for buying or building their own housing, and for financing the repair of older housing. On the other hand, loans to individuals, local authorities, companies and non-governmental organization for the acquisition of housing with regard to social factors.
